アン･ルイスが、自分のやりたい事を始めた 1978年の
「Think! Pink!」に続いて、 1979年にリリースされたアルバム
「Pink Pussy Cat」 です。

日本語タイトルは「ピンク・キャット」、ジャケットには中国語風のタイトルも書かれていて、
「粉紅色的小猫」　・・・・　おふざけですねぇ。

このアルバムは、山下達郎のプロデュースです。
吉田美奈子も参加していて、本人の談によると 1曲だけプロデュースしたとのことなので、
おそらく 06 ではないかと思います。

参加ミュージシャンも凄いんですよ！

01、11 は HEARTS のナンバーで、Wilson姉妹が作詞作曲したバラッドですが、
最初と最後に持ってくるってところにセンスが光りますね。

02 は一転してディスコ・チューン！
この後にシングルとして出た 「恋のブギ・ウギ・トレイン」に通じる、楽しいナンバーです。

03 Just Another Night

03 は ヒット･メーカーDiane Warren の作詞作曲による英語詞で、ボクのお気に入りの1曲。
素晴らしいバラッドです。

04 は下田逸郎の作詞、桑名正博の作曲、演奏はTEARDROPS
（G： 是方博邦、G： 新井清貴、B： 東山光良、D： 林敏明、K： 難波正司）、
ん～、良い意味でマンマ、桑名ですな。 アン･ルイスの低音の魅力が際立ちますね。

05 は珍しい、ラテンというかサンバですね。 吉田美奈子と椎名和夫。
06 は作詞･作曲 吉田美奈子で、ファンキーでかっこいいですね。
ベストものにはあまり入らないですが、「アニーズ・スペシャル 小林克也DJバージョン」や、
「PATRIC B. Remix　Ann Lewis Club Trip」に収録されました。

07 シャワーの音とエレピの伴奏のカワイイ曲、それに続いて 08、達っさんの曲で、
セルフカバーもしています。山下久美子もカバーしました。そっちが知られているかも。
これもスロー・バラッドで素敵ですね。

09 Lost in Hollywood

09 は、ボクのもうひとつのお気に入りです。外国人名 3人による作詞・作曲ですが、
だれかのカバーなのか不明です・・・・。　山下達郎と椎名和夫の共同アレンジですが、
これが良い！　ギターも良いし、ベースもファンキーだし、ブルージーだし、大好きです。

10 は加瀬邦彦の作曲、シングル曲で、「女～・・・」の流れです。単独では良い曲です。
このアルバムのなかではこの曲だけ系統が違うよね、ですけど。

LPは初回限定でピンク色のカラーレコードになっていました。
1988年にCD化されたようですが、評判では音は良くないと・・・・
オークションでは3000円～6000円ぐらいで出ているようですが、
いつかリマスター盤が出ることを期待しております。

この後、アン･ルイスはいろんなタイプのアルバムを作っていきますが、山下達郎と組んだ
この「ピンク・キャット」の、特にファンキーでブルージーな楽曲がかなり好きですね。
アルバムとしてもまとまっていると思いますね。
ほんと、大好きなので自己満足で長文書いてしまいました。（苦笑）

Exactly it is very difficult to find out her albums released in 1978 - 1982, such as Think Pink!, Pink Pussy Cat, LA SAISON D'AMOUR.  I only have the analog LPs.
Would you like to listen "Dream Boar Annie"?

Well I really like ann lewis music, it is very difficult to find those albums, and I really like her style back then...I have an analog 7" single, "GOOD BYE MY LOVE"...but i wish i could find any way to listen to THINK PINK or PINK PUSSY CAT! and is awesome that you have those albums!!!

oh by way, YMO made a collaboration in PINK PUSSY CAT??

Ok, I will upload some other Ann's songs from her late 70's albums here on my blog.

BTW, it is not true that YMO made a collaboration on the album. Individually Haruomi Hosono played a bass on some songs, and Yukihiro Takahashi played drums on some as well. Ryuichi Sakamoto did not appear, so there was no YMO collaboration on Pink Pussy Cat.  However, there were a lot of artists who are very famous in Japanese music scean. Tatsuro Yamashita, who was a producer of the album, has a lot of fans here.

Greetings Pink Cloud, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to you, thanks to this page I was able to listen to some extend Pink Pussy Cat and Think! Pink!, since last year I've been trying to collect most of Annie's discography, managing to purchase her singles and original albums from 1987-2005,

however to my regret her 70's collection keeps eluding me, since the lack of re-releases the only album that I have been able to buy is her GOLDEN BEST that was released last year, that's why... I request, if there's a way that you could upload into your page, Think! Pink! and Pink Pussy Cat, just to hear them, because I know, I'm missing some great tracks that without your help maybe, I will never be able to listen to.

Also, I have a question, do you know if Annie will ever be active again? after her Rebirth album and the Reunion concert I have read that she went back to the US again,  I don't want to believe that this is it for her career and I would love to see her on stage at least once...

Hi Blie Bullet, Thank you for your comments on it. I was grad to hear that you enjoyed my page and songs. I have not updated this blog for over 6 months due to some reasons, but I am willing to upload other tracks per your request when I have extra time in near future. Please stay tune, and check it out. ;-)

By the way, as you may know, Annie has lived in Los Angels for over 10 years. She has been designing and producing some artistic stuff there. And, unfortunately for her fans who love her songs (including myself), she is not willing to be back to entertainment scene or show business as a musician or a singer. That's all I know about her thoughts.
